Butter cakes with nuts
0.25 lb butter
0.25 lb sugar powder
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
0.5 lb flour
1 egg white
Nuts in taste
Whip butter and sugar powder together.
Add vanilla, egg, and flour, and make dough fast. Do not over make, just make it for 2-3 minutes.
Roll the dough in 1/2” layer, and cut into rings (round without middles). Cover the upper side of the rings with whipped egg white, then cover that with grated nuts (on your taste), and bake in an oven pre-heated to 340 F(170 C) until they turn light golden.
These rings were very popular as school lunch cakes in the Soviet Union.
